Soul Prep Meditation #1

DELIBERATE, DETERMINED, PERSEVERANCE

I’ve been deeply moved and troubled in my spirit as to the condition of the church. We are witnessing a compromise of God’s Word to fit whatever the carnal mind can imagine. People are losing hope and faith. There is a great deception taking place in the church concerning the truths in God’s Word. Proverbs 4:27 “Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil”. In other words, keep persevering, push forward, be steadfast in truth. There is a war going on in the spirit realm and that war is the same as it has been for over 2000 years … good versus evil, right versus wrong. AND it looks like evil is winning, doesn’t it?

Today I want to talk to you about perseverance (continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition; the action or condition or an instance of persevering; steadfastness). As never before, we need to learn to persevere. We not only need to fight, but we need to learn to stay in the fight until God brings victory! WE, my friends, are contending (fighting) for our faith as never before. The battle is intensifying.

We need keen discernment, authority in the Holy Ghost, and staunch faith to live in us. This is a spiritual battle and it must be fought for aggressively and attained with perseverance in the spirit. I’m not speaking of a carnal aggression; I am talking about a spiritual authority and passion.

Matthew 24:13 “The one who endures to the end, he will be saved.”

Don’t be surprised when you go through trials, suffering, humiliation, and sorrow. If we want to be a part of God’s Kingdom, we will face tribulation, and we WILL NEED PERSEVERANCE. Jesus taught that those who earnestly, passionately pursue God are enabled to never to give up regardless of the conflicts and trials we face because of the power we have in Him. In Revelation 1:9, John told us that he was a partaker of tribulation and kingdom and in patient endurance, which are in Jesus. Perseverance is a functional reality in our lives. It is a deliberate decision to not give up no matter how bad things become in this world. It is a deliberate decision to endure (remain, abide, not recede or flee or compromise; to persevere under misfortunes and trials, to hold fast to ones faith in Christ; to endure, bear bravely and calmly during ill treatments; to not give in to lies and deceits of false teachers or culture). There is only one way that we can inherit the promises of God and that is through faith and endurance. Hebrews 10:36

In James 1:2-4, James tells us that the testing of our faith develops endurance and that endurance must finish its work so that WE may be mature and complete, lacking in nothing. In other words, we don’t just serve God when the going is good, and when things get tough, we throw in the towel. NO, we don’t accept things just because the culture is changing its views on what’s right and wrong. NO, we contend, we fight for the faith; we wrestle against principalities and powers (Matthew 5:41; Jude 1:3; Ephesians 6:12). WE DON’T GIVE UP! We are soldiers in the army of our Lord Jesus Christ who endure hardships. When we get knocked down, get broadsided, we get up! We rise to fight another day! Surrender is not an option!

Micah 7:7-8

But as for me, I will look to the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.

Our endurance, our perseverance isn’t based on our physical strength, but it is appropriated from grace drawn from our relationship with Christ. We come to Him when we are weary and heavy laden; in Him, we find rest.

Satan is subtle. Many have been lulled to sleep. They have become lethargic. Have you? Have you lost your energy to fight? If so, let the power of the Holy Spirit awaken in you today! May the God who gives encouragement and perseverance empower you to be the man or woman of God you were meant to be. There is no time to quit! Don’t just sit on your bottom and read about God’s promises. We are called to possess the promises of God.

The enemy’s ultimate goal is to cause you to doubt the validity of God’s Word. He desires to cause you to lose your faith in God. And, he will do everything in his power to do that. His goal is to wear you out, and he’s done a pretty good job of it … BUT SHAKE YOURSELF FROM YOUR SLUMBER. PUT ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD AND GET BACK INTO BATTLE!

We are in a spiritual warfare. Whatever your battle is, whether it is deeply personal or for your family, the enemy’s goal is to get you to give up. Listen to me … you cannot give up! YOU MUST RISE UP in the power of the Holy Spirit and passionately bombard heaven for breakthrough. It’s not too late! We must persevere, push forward, and endure.

With the help of the Holy Spirit, it’s time to get our second wind and FIGHT HELL! The Bible is very clear on who will enter the kingdom of heaven. And I Corinthians 6:9-10 is very clear on who will not. As I read it, I see myself, a sinner saved only by the mercy and grace of God. Oh, I am so thankful everyday to have the privilege of having a relationship with Jesus. To think that He loves me never ceases to astound me. I’m rotten through and through. The only good in me is my precious Savior, Jesus, whom I love with my whole being.

My friend, God’s word doesn’t change to fit society. It is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Settle that and rebuke the spirit of confusion and doubt that comes to torment your mind. God is able to rescue you, deliver you, heal you, and help you. He is able to rescue your loved ones, but you must have faith and persevere until the end. The line is being drawn.

Can I pray with you? Please send your request to livinghope777@aol.com. We have an army of people who will join with us. Has this lesson spoken to you? I would love to hear from you.

Eternally Connected,

Sharon
