I read a great story that I want to share with you today. It’s about a pastor and his wife that went forward for prayer when an evangelist was at their church. The evangelist began to reveal the pastor’s past and gave insights into his future. He then turned to the pastor’s wife. As he spoke of her past, suddenly he paused, listening. Finally he spoke, “There was a very serious sin in your past.” The woman with her very worst fear about to be fulfilled turned limp. The congregation, too, hushed. The evangelist continued, “And I asked the Lord, ‘What was this sin that she committed?’ And the Lord answered, “I do not remember.”

This wife was tormented daily by her past sin. Daily she begged God for forgiveness. God, our gracious Father, full of mercy, had forgiven her long ago, but she had not accepted His forgiveness. He was and is faithful to His Word. Hebrews 10:17 Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.

This week is Holy Week. Each year we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead. I have to tell you that the story never grows old to me. Every time I hear it, every time I read it, every time I think of the price Jesus paid to rescue me, I am so grateful, thankful and humbled. The cross of Jesus is the power of God unto salvation! It’s as simple as that. WE ARE FORGIVEN!

Each day as I listen to the news, it is troubling, and yet, on the other hand, the Word says to “Look up, don’t be troubled or confused! When you see these things happen … This same Jesus will come again to receive unto Himself, those who have been found faithful!”

I want to encourage you today to Look up and take heart. Though it looks as though the enemy is winning, we know the end of the book. WE WIN! DO NOT GIVE UP! KEEP YOUR FAITH IN GOD NO MATTER WHAT. STAY TRUE TO HIS WORD. DO NOT COMPROMISE THE WORD OF GOD. GOD’S WORD NEVER CHANGES. People change, laws change, religions change to fit the culture, BUT God’s Word NEVER CHANGES. It is the same yesterday, today and forever. STAND STRONG IN YOUR FAITH IN GOD. LIVE TRUTH.

The Resurrection of Christ is a reminder that we need have no fear about our future or death. Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. (Romans 8:1)

All that is happening serves to remind us that this same Jesus is coming back. It’s to serve to make us uncomfortable in this world and to nudge us to begin to pray “Come quickly Lord Jesus.”

I love this old song …

'There is coming a day, when no heartaches shall come, no more clouds in the sky, no more tears to fill the eyes, all is peace forevermore on that happy golden shore, what a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see, when I look upon His face, the One who saved me by His grace, when He takes me by the hand and leads me to the promise land, what a day, glorious day that will be.

There’ll be no sorrow there, no more burdens to bear, no more sickness, no more pain and no more parting over there, and forever I will be, with the one who died for me, what a day, glorious day that will be.'

Celebrate our Precious Jesus. Pour your love on Him and thank Him for all He continually does for you. Most of all, thank Him for salvation that was purchased for you on the cross. Accept His forgiveness once and for all. He is alive and is mindful of you and all that concerns you.

Bless you and may each day be filled with health, peace, joy and the love of God to you and yours. I love you.

Eternally Connected,

Pastor Sharon
